Unofficial Badges
Issued: 1960s Manufacturer: Unknown I found this badge among a bunch of junk at the programme fair and my eyes lit up as I had never seen it before. I paid £2 for it and thought I'd bought a real rarity. However since then I've seen it turn up regularly on ebay. I am told these were made in Holland in the 1960's.
Issued: 1960s Manufacturer: Neuwpoort I had previously called this badge the Belgian crest badge because of the maker's name on the reverse. On google I found a Nieuwpoort in Begium and assumed this badge was Belgian. However after a bit of detective work by fellow collector and reds fan Rab Burns, I'm now convinced that this badge is Dutch as there is also a Nieuwpoort in Holland. Given that most of the Nieupoort badges on ebay originate from Holland, I'd say Rab is spot on. Thanks Rab.
Issued: 1960s Manufacturer: Unknown This is a very attractive little badge which I am told originates from Germany.

Issued: 1999 Manufacturer: Unknown This nice little badge was the first and probably the best of the Cliftonville and Celtic badges. Unlike some of the other efforts it doesn't look like two badges soldered together. I bought this one from the badges stall in the High Park centre in Belfast.
Issued: 1999 Manufacturer: Unknown Another Cliftonville/Celtic badge, this one celebrates the two clubs both being champions in their respective Premier leagues in 1998. I bought this one from the badges stall in the High Park centre in Belfast.
Issued: 1999 Manufacturer: Unknown This badge looks like a larger version of the official Tiny crest badge though done in a much brighter red. I bought this one from the badges stall in the High Park centre in Belfast.
Issued: 2006 Manufacturer: Unknown I bought this nice crest badge from a stall outside Dunnes in Belfast city centre. I actually bought about a dozen and used them for swaps.
Issued: 2007 Manufacturer: Pin Expert China I bought this badge off ebay from the same guy that was selling the Rosette badge (see official badges section). The colours are a bit washed out looking and the overall finish is a bit rough.
Issued: 2008 Manufacturer: Unknown Produced by a fellow Reds supporter known as 'Red Marauder', this badge was to mark our away trip to Cork City in the Setanta cup. Each badge was individually numbered and there were 100 made.
Issued: 2008 Manufacturer: Unknown Oh dear... I guess this is what happens when communication between badge designer and badge maker goes badly wrong. Produced by a fellow supporter known as 'Flagman', this badge was given away free along with the proper Pride of Ireland badge.
Issued: 2008 Manufacturer: Unknown Produced by the same fellow Reds supporter 'Flagman' that produced the mistake badge, this is how the it should have looked.

Issued: 2009 Manufacturer: Unknown Produced by '1979' this is the away kit from the 1951-52 season. This shirt had an interesting history as it was worn by Glentoran in the 1952 Irish cup final. The Glens had turned up with a red shirt for the final and noticing a clash with the Ards kit, the referee insisted on a change of kit. Glentoran officials were dispatched to Solitude to borrow our white away kit. More details can be found here: http://www.playingfortheshirt.net/page13_1952_1954.html
Issued: 2009 Manufacturer: Unknown Another resin type badge this time to mark our participation in the 2009 Irish cup final. As well as not liking these badges, I've noticed that we have lost most of the games that this type of badge has been produced for. There were also versions in yellow & blue and in red & black.
